Has it really been 18 weeks since I last updated?

Well, I guess I really don't have much to update on...

School is going as well as can be expected, I suppose. I've gotten over my strep throat, so I can actually sing now. Well, except today. My sinuses are acting up again.

Blah.

Anyway, so I now have a roommate. Rather than my grandmother, I now share my room with my dog.

I have a new favorite song... "So Close" from Enchanted. And, sure, the guy they have singing it is really cute... *sighs*

The dazzling replica of the Paris Opera House chandelier is made up of 6,000 beads consisting of 35 beads to each string. It is 3 metres wide and weighs one ton. The touring version falls at 2.5 meters per second. The original version was built by 5 people in 4 weeks.

2,230 metres of fabric are used for the drapes, 900 of them specially dyed. The tasseled fringes measure 226 metres. They are made up of 250 kilos of dyed wool interwoven with 5,000 wooden beads imported from India. Each one is handmade and combed through with an Afro comb.

There are 130 cast, crew and orchestra members directly involved in each performance.

Each performance has 230 costumes, 14 dressers, 120 automated cues, 22 scene changes, 281 candles and uses 250 kg of dry ice and 10 fog and smoke machines.

The touring production takes 27 articulated lorries to transfer the set between theatres.

It is estimated that Phantom has been seen by more than 80 million people worldwide, with total ticket sales of more than $3.2 billion.

The Phantom has been produced in hundreds of cities, in more than 20 countries around the world, including UK, US, New Zealand, Japan, Austria, Canada, Sweden, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, Australia, Holland, Switzerland, Belgium, Korea, Denmark, Spain and Russia.

So my mom's cousin is coming into town, and he has a daughter 11 days younger than me.

I should be excited, right?

Well, I'm not. I'm dreading this, because the average 15-year-old's tastes are of no interest to me. And if she's anything like ever other person our age, then we're not going to have a whole lot in common.

I don't let the world dictate what I'm interested in. If everyone is into something that I actually DO like, then good, but if I know I don't really like it, I avoid it. I'd rather be happy liking what I want to like than be unhappily accepted by the world for sharing THEIR interests.

But I digress...

Not only am I going to have to spend two weeks with someone I potentially share no interests with, but I have to give up my room... again! It creeps me out beyond belief to have other people sleep in my bed. And I don't know how I'm going to manage when they leave unless we get a new mattress and burn the old one... Plus I feel like I can't even enter my own room. Ugh! I hate it!

*sigh* I should probably go clean now...

So now I'm shut up in my room, attempting to fill myself up on dark chocolate and Tic Tacs (believe me, there's no WAY I'm going back out there again), writing, because I'm pathetic, and that's what pathetic people do...

And being shut up in my room. With very limited light.

Man, what have I come to? No wonder my mom gives me that weird look regularly...

Yes, I have once again been bitten by the anti-sleep bug, and I find I can't seem to get to sleep and stay asleep. I think last night (actually, yesterday morning) I got 5 hours of straight-ish sleep.
From about 5:30 to 10:30...
Not good.
I guess it's a good thing I don't have to work anymore...
You know, I guess I could listen to some soothing music, but I'm pretty sure my idea of SOOTHING music is waaay messed up. Evanescene, Wicked, and Phantom of the Opera come to mind when I think "soothing."
*sigh* I am one WEIRD child, that's for sure...
So anyway, in my sleeplessness, I decided to write, but I figured I might get some stuff out on my LiveJournal before I started.

Ah! I just took another quiz, and here were my results:

Bad recording equipment really doesn't help much with the quality of the singing (yes, I used my cell phone again).
I AM a bit congested here, but most of the nasily sound is actually the recording equipment. I also had to sing quietly. Imagine how it would sound if I were belting it out... I promise, I sound MUCH better than this recording will let you hear.
This is probably one of the best recordings I've gotten off my phone...

I just noticed the noise in the background. Sorry about that...

I've neglected you for far too long, LJ, and for that, I apologize.
It seems like I only turn to you in my time of need...
Yes, this is a time of need, but I'm not going into that now. I'm just so happy to be back!

LoL, I'm being a bit dramatic, but I don't really care!

I guess I should update you on what's happened recently.

Well, as you can guess, school is out for summer, and it's been that way for about a month now.

The first week of summer, I went to Washington D.C. and New York City on an incredible five-day whirl-wind trip. While in New York, I saw Wicked on Broadway (amazing... seriously, it's almost as cool as Phantom of the Opera).

Then I kicked back for a week before I began my internship at my mom's work, making $6 an hour! Unfortunately, it was only two weeks, and I got both of mine over with at the same time.

So now, I have two months to do nothing before school starts up, and I'm a freshman.

Eek! How did that happen?

Well, I'll leave you with the words of Steven Schwartz, as can only be sung by Ms. Shoshana Bean. Man! Even with a 101 degree fever, she owned Martha's stage!

I've missed this site. However, I've been having problems that I needed advice on, hence I used my MDD to get it.
I honestly wish somebody would read this. I don't write in it for my health- I take that back. I do, but it would be reassuring to know that someone cares about me enough to read this and take time to leave a comment.

New Year's Resolutions

I. I will stop bitting my nails-- and probably replace it with an equally bad, if not worse, habit.
II. I will concentrate more on my school work and less on Lamp Post-- Maybe...
III. I will finally finish one of my fics, maybe even two.
IV. I will place in the UIL Editorial Writing competition later this month.
V. I will talk to Lamp Post-- Maybe...
VI. I will think of a better nickname for Lamp Post-- Then again, what's worse than Lamp post?
VII. I will clean my room and keep it clean for more than a few weeks.
VIII. I will start thinking of more alternatives to my dreams just- higher-paying alternative that is :P
IX. I will practice my violin more often-- Maybe...
X. I will work on my singing and hopefully improve my range
XI. I will read more.
XII. I will go to bed earlier so I can stay awake to read more.

That's all I can think of at the moment... But 12 is pretty good- One for each month or something like that... I don't know.
Anyway...
